About the event

AM ART n STUFF classes are all about expressing yourself through art in a supportive and fun atmosphere.

These classes are designed to be fun for everyone regardless of artistic ability.

September's class theme is ENVELOPE JUNK JOURNALS w/ ATCs & Ephemera.

What is a Junk Journal?

A junk journal is a handmade book made from recycled materials, such as old papers, magazines, envelopes, and wrapping paper.

Junk journals can be used for many purposes, including:

  • Writing, drawing, and painting: The pages can be used for recording thoughts, ideas, and inspiration
  • Scrapbooking: Junk journals can be used for scrapbooking memories such as vacations or kids' photos
  • Art journaling: Acrylic paint, watercolor, and gouache can be used in junk journals
  • Project keeping: Junk journals can be used to keep track of projects
  • Mood boards: Junk journals can be used to create mood boards

There are no rules for what to include in a junk journal, and the maker can decide how they want to use it.

What is an ATC?

An artist trading card (ATC) is a small piece of art that is traded, collected, and created by artists. ATCs are typically 2.5 in x 3.5 in, the same size as a baseball card or playing card. They may also be used for displaying photos of your children & family, or special memory from a vacation.

What is Ephemera?

Ephemera is a term used to describe the items used to decorate or make a junk journal, including:

  • Tags
  • Bookmarks
  • Postcards
  • Tucks
  • Pockets
  • Notepaper
  • Images

I can't wait to create art and share good company with you!

Supplies are provided. Artists are welcome to bring their favorite supplies if they prefer.

These classes are free, however, gratuity is greatly appreciated to cover costs of supplies & food.
